Willy Pedersen Estate

The lifelong work of the stamp trader and veteran of philately at auction house Felzmann

First part of the Willy Pedersen estate in the 176th auction:

In the large Felzmann autumn auction, special attention will be paid to the Willy Pedersen supplement. Here the lifetime work of the recently deceased stamp trader and veteran of philately Willy Pedersen from Denmark is offered.

Willy Pedersen from Egaa/Aarhus in the north of Denmark was a veteran of the philately. He ran his stamp business with untiring passion for more than 60 years. In this way, Pedersen literally turned his hobby into a profession and made generations of collectors happy. He always ran his business from Aarhus in in Jutland, but he travelled far and had excellent contacts with suppliers, customers and numerous collector friends all over the world.

There was not a room in Willy Pedersens house that was not filled with his beloved hobby in some way. In addition, he maintained an enormous stock, the kind of which is hardly imaginable nowadays.
In keeping with his credo of a lasting, often friend-like relationship with his customers, he always strove to know and fulfil their wishes. This meant that he always kept selected collecting areas in stock as complete and extent as possible. We can now offer you some of these at the Felzmann auction house.

Ulrich Felzmann himself maintained a friendly relationship with Willy Pedersen for decades and already in a telephone conversation, in the middle of this year, he wanted to sell his collections and his entire stock through the Felzmann auction house. He already knew that he would only have a little time left. Unfortunately, this no longer happened, so that we now received the assignment from his heirs.

On their behalf, we are auctioning off a first large part of the warehouse and his collections in this supplement. We take this opportunity to commemorate a great collector and stamp trader, who throughout his life enthusiastically supported many collectors all over the world.

In the autumn auction of 2022, the first part of his extensive stock was auctioned off, as well as parts of his very extensive collections. These include above all Japan, which he visited several times, as well as the German colonies and Scandinavia.

Representative of many top surcharges is the collection of German foreign post offices and colonies, which was auctioned for 23,500 Euros after numerous bids (lot 9505, estimate: 10,000 Euros). Only a few lots remained for the post-sale, so that one may be curious about further parts from this stock.
