FAQs on service, expert advice and evaluation

We have compiled the most frequently asked questions for you here.

Are expert advice and evaluations really free of charge?

Yes. We do not charge anything for evaluating your stamps or coins in our offices, regardless of whether you submit them for auction or take them home with you again. Similarly, advice on the best way to sell your stamps and coins is also provided completely free of charge.

Is it necessary to make an appointment to receive expert advice?

Yes, to avoid waiting time, we would ask you to make an appointment with us beforehand. Our philatelists and numismatists have very busy schedules and are also regularly out of the office on business. How does the auction house earn money on the material I submit?

The auction house earns a commission on the sale of your material. If you enter into an auction contract with us, we will agree on the percentage of the acquisition price of your material to be taken as commission. We also charge a small processing fee per lot. However, there are no further costs associated with insuring your material (full coverage).

How long will it take to examine my material?

This may vary greatly from case to case. However, thanks to their many years of experience, our team are able to provide expert, objective evaluations very quickly. Normally, material that consists of 10 to 30 albums will not take more than 30 minutes to evaluate. However, this also varies significantly depending on the material in question.

Can I be present at the evaluation?

Yes – in fact, we insist upon it! In this way, you can see exactly which material we examine more closely under the microscope.

Can I bring large amounts of material to your offices?

Yes, you are welcome to do so. Our staff will also be at hand to help you unload your material and carry it into our offices. We are even in a position to evaluate very extensive collections in our offices.
