1986-1996

Over the company’s second decade, it reinforced its position as the leading philatelic auction house in the Rhine and Ruhr area.

The sale of stock formerly belonging to legendary Berlin-based stamp dealer Philipp Kosack, which was untouched since the 1930s, finally enabled the company – now located on Bismarckstrasse in Düsseldorf – to enter the top league of philatelic auction houses.

The innovative nature of the company was evidenced by the catalogues it produced: in addition to single lots from the fields of philately, postal history, numismatics and autographs, the catalogues now featured inherited collections in their entirety. From this point onwards, the catalogues were also lavishly illustrated. For the first time, special catalogues were produced for individual areas of interest, e.g. ‘Private postal organisations in Germany in the 19th century’.

A number of valued employees – such as Peter Such, Sonja Hendel-Tayahi and Karl Heinz Feller – joined the company during this decade. And the first anniversaries were also celebrated: the company’s 50th auction was held in 1988, the 75th in 1995.
